Ahmad Dedi named suspect in Customs bribery investigation

Ahmad Dedi, a civil servant at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) under the Ministry of Finance, has reportedly been named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in a bribery case. Dedi, who is allegedly a representative for Customs within the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and the Military Intelligence Agency (BAIS), is linked to an investigation involving a Rp30 billion bribe from Blueray Cargo boss John Field.

During court proceedings, Field testified that he provided Rp5 billion monthly to an individual he identified as Dedi. This investigation is an expansion of a previous case that led to the detention of Gatot Heroe Hernanda, the Head of Customs in Kediri, in August 2026.

In related testimony at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Ahmad Dedi addressed the nickname ‘Dedi Congor’ or ‘Decong’ associated with him. Dedi clarified that he is not called by this name by family or friends, noting that the moniker appeared in another individual's contact list rather than being a personal nickname used in direct interaction.
