Ahmad Luthfi urges anti-corruption culture among Central Java civil servants
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has called for an anti-corruption culture to be deeply embedded within the Civil Servant (ASN) workforce to ensure clean governance. Speaking at a socialization event for integrity and anti-corruption strengthening in Semarang, Luthfi emphasized that true culture means refusing to engage in corruption regardless of whether oversight bodies like the KPK, police, or prosecutors are present.
Luthfi noted that while organizational structures and personnel can be easily formed, building genuine awareness and habits is a longer process. He argued that integrity is the dignity of a public official and requires the courage to resist corrupt practices. He stressed that this responsibility extends from regional heads and department heads to leaders of state-owned enterprises.
The Central Java Provincial Government continues to strengthen corruption prevention through certified programs, including Anti-Corruption Counselors (Paksi) and Integrity Building Experts (API) under the Kompak API Jawa Tengah community. These efforts include initiatives such as Anti-Corruption Villages and Integrity Schools.
