Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat hosts 50th Jalsa Salana in Mendig
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat is hosting its 50th annual Jalsa Salana assembly at the Mendig airfield in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Approximately 45,000 participants are expected to attend the three-day event, which features religious lectures, prayers, and community gatherings.
To accommodate the large number of attendees, a temporary tent city consisting of roughly 1,450 tents has been established. The site includes facilities for prayer, dining, exhibitions, a bazaar, and medical services.
Organizers stated that the assembly serves as a public signal of commitment to peace, social responsibility, and Germany’s liberal democratic order. Federal chairman Abdullah Uwe Wagishauser emphasized that the event aims to highlight the volunteerism and societal contributions of Muslims, which he noted are often overlooked in political discourse. The assembly coincides with state elections in Saxony-Anhalt.
