Ahmadu Bello University alumni call for increased institutional support

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria Alumni Association has called for increased collaboration between alumni, the government, and the private sector to support the institution's growth and legacy. During the association's 2026 Annual Get-Together and Awards Ceremony in Kaduna, the worldwide president, Malam Adamu Maman Kontagora, urged graduates to provide mentorship, scholarships, and professional expertise through a new alumni-student engagement framework.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, was honored at the event for his administration's support of the university. Governor Sani described ABU as a strategic asset to both Kaduna State and Nigeria, noting its role in enriching human capital development, promoting research, and stimulating economic activity. He highlighted the state's investments in infrastructure around the university, including the rehabilitation and construction of internal access roads.
