Ahmed Ajibola Resigns from City Boy Movement Amid Role Offer Controversy
Ahmed Ajibola, former Oyo State coordinator of the City Boy Movement, denied reports that his departure was due to misconduct. He said he voluntarily resigned on principle after declining two new positions offered by the movement: a shift from State Coordinator to Coordinator of the Directorate of Affairs on August 1, 2026, and a role as Coordinator of Stakeholders’ Engagement for the South‑West Geopolitical Zone on August 5, 2026. Ajibola emphasized that no dismissal letter was ever issued and that his support for President Bola Tinubu remains unchanged.
In an Instagram statement, Ajibola criticized recent state‑level actions within the movement, describing them as falling short of the values of fairness, loyalty, transparency, competence, and mutual respect. He asserted, “My decision is based not on bitterness, but on principle,” and said the leadership changes convinced him he could no longer serve in good conscience.
