Ahmed al Ahmed: Bondi Beach hero's assault charges dropped
Prosecutors have withdrawn domestic violence and stalking charges against Ahmed al Ahmed, the man recognized for his role in disarming a gunman during the December 2025 Bondi Beach terrorist attack. The charges stemmed from an alleged March incident in southwest Sydney involving his father, Mohammad Fadeh al Ahmed.
During a hearing at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday, al Ahmed accepted a 12-month apprehended domestic violence order (AVO) without admitting to the allegations. The order restricts his contact with his father and prohibits him from assaulting, threatening, stalking, or intimidating him.
Al Ahmed, who was shot multiple times during the Bondi Beach massacre, had previously expressed distress over the legal proceedings. In a separate matter, two of his brothers, Hozifa and Sameh al Ahmed, remain before the courts facing charges of allegedly attempting to extort $200,000 from him following the successful fundraising campaign that raised over AU$2.5 million in his honor.
