Ahmed Assaf discusses media cooperation with Arab ministers

Ahmed Assaf, the General Supervisor of Official Palestinian Media, met with several Arab media ministers during the fourth Future of Media and Communication Forum in Amman, Jordan. The discussions focused on enhancing joint media cooperation to support the Palestinian cause and convey the reality of the situation in the Palestinian territories to the global public.

Assaf held meetings with media officials from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt. He highlighted the severe challenges faced by Palestinian journalists, noting that more than 260 journalists have been killed in Gaza and the West Bank since October 7, 2023. He emphasized the need for Arab media to develop digital platforms capable of communicating the Palestinian narrative in multiple languages to counter restrictions on social media platforms.

The meetings also addressed the importance of exchanging expertise to keep pace with digital transformations, including the impact of artificial intelligence and social media, to ensure the Palestinian perspective remains present in international discourse.
