Ahmed El-Wakil elected President of the Association of African Chambers
The Council of the Association of African Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Crafts has unanimously elected Ahmed El-Wakil as President and Dr. Alaa Ezz as Secretary-General. The election took place during a council meeting held in New Alamein City, on the sidelines of the African Summit and Alamein Africa Conference.
The meeting was attended by Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, along with leaders from various African chambers of commerce. The new leadership aims to strengthen the association's role as a unified platform for the African business community and to support economic, commercial, and investment integration across the continent.
President El-Wakil emphasized that priorities for the upcoming term include maximizing the benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), removing barriers to trade and investment, and connecting producers and exporters to markets. He also highlighted the importance of building integrated African value and supply chains and fostering partnerships between governments, the private sector, and development finance institutions to facilitate the movement of goods and services.
