Ahmed Galadima Aminu launches 2027 Adamawa governorship campaign

Ahmed Galadima Aminu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Adamawa State, has officially launched his 2027 campaign with the unveiling of the ‘Adamawa Rising Agenda’. The plan focuses on transitioning the state from subsistence farming to industrial-scale production by establishing agro-industrial hubs across the three senatorial zones.

Aminu’s economic strategy aims to end the export of raw commodities by building local processing plants, storage facilities, and packaging units. Priority value chains include rice, maize, groundnut, cotton, soybeans, sesame, cassava, and livestock. The candidate intends to link farming communities directly to these industrial centers to increase farmers' incomes and boost internally generated revenue through economic growth rather than increased taxation.

Additionally, the agenda proposes attracting investment into the state’s solid minerals, such as limestone, baryte, gemstones, and lead-zinc, with an emphasis on local processing. Aminu stated that his administration would seek public-private partnerships to finance development, providing the necessary infrastructure and an enabling environment to convert existing assets into economic corridors.
