Ahmed Idris Wase mobilizes leaders to tackle insecurity in Bashar Chiefdom
Ahmed Idris Wase, the representative for Wase Federal Constituency, has convened a meeting of traditional, political, and community leaders in the Bashar Chiefdom to address rising insecurity. The initiative aims to combat banditry and criminal activities occurring in the region's border areas and mining zones.
Wase emphasized that military intervention must be supplemented by grassroots intelligence sharing and community cohesion. To support these efforts, the Nigerian Army has deployed an Intervention Battalion of Special Forces to the Bashar base.
Local leadership has committed to establishing direct communication networks between village heads and security operatives. Additionally, there are plans to monitor local mining sites to mitigate crimes involving unregulated actors that have historically contributed to rural banditry.
