Ahmed Ragab saves child falling from balcony in Giza

Ahmed Ragab, a man in Giza, Egypt, has gained widespread recognition after saving a young child who fell from a balcony in the Ard El Lewa district. The incident, captured on surveillance footage, shows the child briefly catching on a clothesline before falling toward the ground.

Ragab, who was near his father’s shop at the time, reacted instinctively by rushing toward the child and catching him in his arms just moments before impact. Following the rescue, Ragab provided comfort to the child, who is reported to be a four-year-old from Sudan.

Ragab stated that he did not have time to calculate the risks, noting, “Everything happened so quickly that I did not even have time to think about whether I could reach the child.” While social media users have hailed him as a hero, Ragab expressed that his primary motivation was simply to prevent a tragedy.
