Ahmedabad police arrest father and son for murder of 22-year-old woman

Police in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, have arrested a man and his father for the planned murder of 22-year-old Sophia Baruk. The suspects allegedly killed her due to concerns over family honor after a video of her with a male friend went viral on social media three months ago.

According to investigators, the suspects lured Sophia to a secluded sandy path near Keljipura on August 12. There, the brother, Habil Baruk, reportedly struck her multiple times in the head with a concealed iron rod while the father, Mohammad Baruk, assisted.

To conceal the crime, the men moved her body to a main road and staged a vehicle accident, claiming an unidentified speeding vehicle had struck them. While authorities initially treated the incident as a road accident, a detailed investigation revealed the premeditated nature of the attack. The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
