Ahmet Ümit claims unauthorized adaptation of novel in Iran

Turkish author Ahmet Ümit has reported that his 1996 novel, ‘Sis ve Gece’, was adapted into an Iranian television series titled ‘Karga’ without his permission or consultation.

Ümit expressed his frustration on social media, sharing scenes from the production and questioning how to respond to the unauthorized use of his work. The novel, which explores themes of isolation and alienation through the life of an intelligence officer, has been a significant success in Turkey and was the first Turkish crime novel to be translated into Greek.
