Ahmetcan Kaplan transfers from Ajax to NEC Nijmegen

Turkish defender Ahmetcan Kaplan has reached an agreement to join NEC Nijmegen on a permanent transfer from Ajax. The 23-year-old center-back, who spent the previous season at NEC Nijmegen on loan, is expected to sign a contract running until 2030.

According to reports, NEC Nijmegen will pay a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros to Ajax, with a clause included for a share of any future sale. Although Kaplan's name had been linked with a move to Galatasaray, the transfer to the Dutch club has been finalized.

Kaplan originally moved from Trabzonspor to Ajax in 2022 for a fee of 9.5 million euros. During his loan spell at NEC Nijmegen last season, he appeared in 30 official matches and scored two goals.
