AHMSA auction and Azul Azul liquidation face key developments

In Mexico, the National Democratic Union expresses confidence in resolving creditor doubts regarding Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) ahead of a decisive second auction scheduled for September 25. A public hearing requested by Cargill is expected to address critical issues, including labor liabilities and the bankruptcy estate's composition, to facilitate the sale process.

In Chile, a judicial ruling has expanded voting rights for creditors in the Sartor liquidation process. Judge María Eugenia Pacheco determined that creditors previously excluded by liquidator Eduardo Godoy Hales will be permitted to vote. This decision impacts the future of Azul Azul and the management of the 63.07% stake in Universidad de Chile, while also putting Godoy’s continued leadership of the liquidation process to a vote.
