AHMSA bankruptcy court orders urgent report on asset auction

A Mexican district court has issued an urgent 48-hour deadline to the receiver, Víctor Manuel Aguilera Gómez, regarding the bankruptcy auction of Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) and Minera del Norte (MINOSA). Judge Ruth Haggi Huerta García ordered the submission of a detailed report documenting efforts to sell the assets and verifying the existence of potential buyers.

The court requires the receiver to present formal letters of conformity from guaranteed creditors and trustees to ensure the legality of including the assets in the public auction. The judicial order also demands clarification on whether any qualified bidders have already been registered or have met the required seriousness guarantees according to the established schedule.

The auction is intended to treat AHMSA and MINOSA as a single productive unit to maximize market value. A public hearing for receiving bids is scheduled for September 25 at 10:00 hours. Failure to comply with the information request within the specified timeframe may result in a fine for the receiver equivalent to 120 Units of Measure and Update (UMA).
