Ahn Jung-hwan reaches 500 million KRW in cumulative donations

Former South Korean national football player and broadcaster Ahn Jung-hwan has reached a milestone of 500 million KRW in cumulative donations through his YouTube channel, ‘Ahn Jung-hwan 19’. His most recent contribution of 64 million KRW was donated to his alma mater, Ajou University Hospital, to support pediatric cancer patients.

Despite reaching this five-year goal, Ahn expressed feelings of exhaustion and emotional distress due to recent online criticism. He noted that the channel began in humble conditions, with a production team working out of a small basement office, and stated that he needs time to recharge and heal from the mental toll of public backlash. He emphasized, however, that he does not intend to stop his philanthropic activities.
