Ahn Pan-seok's final work ‘Yeonae Baksa’ explores realistic romance

The ENA drama ‘Yeonae Baksa’ (Doctor of Love) serves as the final work of director Ahn Pan-seok, who passed away on August 12 at the age of 64 following a cerebral hemorrhage. The series is a youth romance following the relationship between Park Min-jae, a mechanical engineering doctoral student and former swimmer, and Lim Yu-jin, a graduate student in clothing studies.

Ahn Pan-seok, known for his realistic portrayal of human relationships in works such as ‘Secret Love Affair’ and ‘Green Mothers’ Club’, utilizes his signature directing style to focus on the subtle emotions and daily lives of the characters rather than dramatic plot twists. The production features musical collaboration with director Lee Nam-yeon and singer Rachel Yamagata.
