Ahn So Hee faces backlash over friendship with Roy Kim

Actress and former Wonder Girls member Ahn So Hee is facing backlash from some followers following a YouTube video featuring singer Roy Kim. In the video, titled ‘Shopping and Cafe Outing with Roy Kim, My Friend of 10 Years, in Hannam-dong,’ the two revealed they have maintained a close friendship for approximately a decade after first meeting in the United States.

While the content was intended to showcase their long-standing bond, it triggered a heated debate among netizens. Some viewers expressed disappointment in Ahn So Hee, citing Roy Kim’s past involvement in the ‘Jung Joon Young chatroom’ scandal and investigations regarding the distribution of obscene materials in 2019. Critics questioned why the friendship was being publicly highlighted, with some users stating they would unsubscribe from her channel.

Conversely, Roy Kim’s supporters have defended him, arguing that he has already faced the consequences of his past controversies and should be judged on his current musical activities. The controversy has turned the comment section of Ahn So Hee’s channel into a site of conflicting opinions regarding celebrity associations and past scandals.
