Ahola Transport CEO Åke Nyblom named Finland's Official Unicorn for 2026

Åke Nyblom, chief executive of the Finnish family‑owned logistics firm Ahola Transport, was appointed the Valtakunnan Virallinen Unikeko (Official Unicorn) for the year 2026. The selection was announced on 27 July 2026 during a traditional ceremony in Naantali, where Nyblom was ceremonially dunked in the sea from the Vanhankaupungin pier at 08:10 EEST.

Nyblom, born in Kokkola and raised near the archipelago, moved to Naantali in 1997 and has lived in the district of Viluluoto since 1999. He has been with Ahola Transport since 1995, progressing from workshop roles to fleet and site manager (2010), business director (2017) and CEO (2022). He holds an EMBA (2023) and emphasizes low‑hierarchy, fact‑based decision‑making. Under his leadership, Ahola Transport focuses on sustainability, including electrifying its fleet and promoting road safety and anti‑bullying initiatives in local schools.
