Ahome Municipal Palace blockade ended by police widows

Widows of fallen police officers have ended a blockade of the Ahome Municipal Palace in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, following an agreement with local authorities. The protesters, represented by the association ‘Por los derechos de las víctimas’, had occupied the building to demand legal certainty regarding pensions, retirement insurance, and the dismissal of officials in the legal and human resources departments.

A working meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 17, to address the group's four primary demands. While the association leader, Rosario Castro, stated that the group accepted the meeting as a ‘vote of confidence,’ she warned that they would return to protesting if the issues regarding pension documentation and administrative changes are not resolved.
