Ahome schools suspend in-person classes due to electrical issues
At least six schools in Ahome, Sinaloa, have suspended in-person classes due to electrical wiring issues. Educational authorities are currently waiting for the allocation of resources to begin necessary rehabilitation work.
José Cruz Macías Dueñas, head of the Regional Services of the SEPyC in Ahome, stated that officials are in communication with parents and the Sinaloan Institute of Physical Educational Infrastructure (ISIFE). ISIFE is responsible for assigning contracts for the repairs. Affected areas include schools in La Higuera de Zaragoza, Las Grullas, and Ejido 20 de Noviembre.
While waiting for the funds and contract definitions, students are continuing their academic activities through virtual learning. The schools are categorized within the first level of priority to receive the necessary economic benefits for these repairs.
