Ahome implements gender violence prevention and child protection measures

Authorities in Ahome, Sinaloa, are intensifying efforts to combat violence and protect vulnerable populations. The Secretariat of Women (SEMUJERES) has activated prevention programs for violence against women and families, responding to the municipality's gender alert status. These actions include outreach in schools, businesses, and public spaces to eradicate gender-based violence and inequality.

Simultaneously, the National System for the Integral Protection of Children and Adolescents (SIPINNA) has trained over 1,700 teachers in Ahome this year. The training focuses on protocols to detect and address risks such as cyberbullying, bullying, and domestic violence. A new program, ‘Ahome sin violencia’, is scheduled for launch in late August to provide ongoing support and monitoring in schools.
