Ahora Nación appoints Ángel Meneses as new spokesperson

The political group Ahora Nación has appointed Deputy Ángel Meneses as the new primary spokesperson for its parliamentary group. This decision follows the resignation of César Holguín from the role due to political differences regarding the granting of executive powers and the censure of the Minister of the Interior.

Senator Mirtha Vásquez has dismissed rumors of a split within the party, clarifying that while Holguín and Indira Huilca resigned from their spokesperson positions, they have not left the party or the parliamentary bloc. Vásquez noted that the disagreements stemmed from differing views on whether to grant certain powers, describing the situation as a search for better internal coexistence rather than a breach of principles.

Additionally, Indira Huilca has decided to step down from her role as alternate spokesperson despite the party's efforts to resolve communication issues and offer apologies. The party's political commission is expected to formalize a new alternate spokesperson in the coming days.
