Ahotor FM prepares for third Academic Showdown in Tema West

Ahotor 92.3 FM and the Tema West Municipal Education Directorate have convened a stakeholder meeting to prepare for the third edition of the Ahotor Academic Showdown. The gathering included traditional leaders and education officials to strengthen collaboration for the upcoming competition.

The initiative aims to foster academic excellence and a culture of learning among basic school students within the municipality. Previous participants have used the platform to test knowledge across various academic subjects, with Sakumono School Complex 2 JHS winning the second edition in 2025.

Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, General Manager of Ahotor FM, noted that the event is part of the station’s corporate social responsibility. He called for support from parents and corporate organizations to help expand the competition from a municipal level to a national stage.

Mrs. Sophia Ako, the Tema West Municipal Education Director, highlighted that the competition serves as a developmental tool. She stated that the event provides teachers with critical feedback on student performance, allowing them to identify specific areas where learners may require additional academic support.
