AHRIM and IOM sign agreement for ethical recruitment in Mauritius

The Association of Hoteliers and Restaurants in Mauritius (AHRIM) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have signed a cooperation agreement to improve the hospitality sector.

The framework focuses on establishing protocols for ethical recruitment, the protection of migrant workers, and disaster preparedness within the tourism industry. The agreement was signed in Port-Louis by AHRIM Chief Executive Officer Shirin Gunny and IOM Mauritius and Seychelles Chief of Mission Alia Hirji.

Industry representatives noted that migrant workers are increasingly vital to hotel operations and the future of the sector. The partnership builds upon previous collaborative efforts, including joint workshops on ethical recruitment practices.
