AI accelerates cyberattack speed and drives new identity defense tools

Artificial intelligence is fundamentally altering the economics of cyberattacks by reducing the time, effort, and specialized expertise required for reconnaissance and vulnerability research. Traditional security models, which were designed for human-speed attackers, are being challenged by machine-speed threats that can analyze complex relationships across cloud, SaaS, and API infrastructures at scale.

To counter these evolving threats, the identity and security sectors are shifting toward continuous exposure management and advanced monitoring. Netarx, a Michigan-headquartered firm, has launched an AI Defense API designed to detect and neutralize deepfakes, identity spoofing, and social engineering across corporate communication channels. The platform utilizes an orchestration layer with 40 specialized AI models to analyze digital signals in real time, including audio micro-artifacts and video frame anomalies such as unnatural blinking or lighting inconsistencies, to verify identities during live interactions.
