AI Adoption Accelerates in Schools and Life‑Science Laboratories

A new global study projects the AI education market to grow from $6.9 billion in 2025 to over $41 billion by 2030, driven by rapid classroom adoption. Seventy‑three percent of K‑12 teachers now use generative AI tools, while two‑thirds of students rely on ChatGPT for assignments, research and grammar checking. Respondents in China (83%) and Indonesia (80%) view AI very positively, compared with less than 40% in the United States and the Netherlands. The report highlights a widening training gap for educators, ethical concerns among 24% of students, and mixed views on AI’s net impact on learning.

A separate survey of 113 life‑science laboratories shows more than 60% are exploring AI, with 57% using it for data analysis and 25% deploying generative‑AI tools. Only about 5% have placed AI agents into production, citing data‑quality, security and integration issues as major barriers. Laboratories are prioritising connectivity of LIMS, ELNs and analytical instruments before scaling agentic workflows. Both studies point to a shift from experimentation to building the data and infrastructure foundations needed for broader AI deployment.
