AI adoption challenges and opportunities reshape hospitality sector

At the ARDA Spring Conference 2026, experts discussed how artificial intelligence, automation, data integration, and immersive technologies are transforming the guest experience in vacation‑rental and hotel operations. They emphasized using AI to automate repetitive tasks, personalize the entire customer journey from pre‑booking to post‑stay, and improve cybersecurity while maintaining human interaction.

A separate report commissioned by Hosteltur and prepared by RaceMyDesk evaluated the AI discoverability of more than 7,000 hotel websites in over 30 countries. The study found an average Tourism AI Discoverability Index (TADI) score of 28%, with seven out of ten hotels receiving the lowest ratings. Luxury hotels scored especially poorly because their sites prioritize visual design over structured, factual content, and many sites block AI crawlers. Consequently, AI‑driven travel assistants often draw information from third‑party platforms rather than the hotels’ own sites, limiting the sector’s visibility to emerging AI tools.
