AI adoption drives hiring growth in U.S. firms, study shows
A Financial Times investigation, using data from Revelio Labs and the National Association of Colleges and Employers, found that American companies that invest heavily in artificial intelligence—especially in software and media—have increased employment by about 10% after adopting the technology. The same firms are also planning to hire roughly 5.6% more recent graduates than the previous year, contradicting the narrative that AI will eliminate jobs.
The analysis notes that AI does not replace expertise but allows experienced workers to spend less time on repetitive tasks and more on interpretation and decision‑making, effectively freeing capacity for higher‑value work. While the boost is not universal across all sectors, the data suggest that AI can be a catalyst for job creation rather than a purely disruptive force.
