AI adoption drives shift toward managing data fragmentation
As enterprises accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence into daily operations, the focus of data management is shifting from total data volume to the challenge of data fragmentation. Matthias Nijs, VP of EMEA Sales at Datadobi, notes that organizations are increasingly struggling to maintain visibility across complex hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Fragmentation is particularly problematic for unstructured data, such as video, scanned documents, and file shares, which often lack the metadata necessary for effective AI readiness. In regions like the UAE, the rapid adoption of multi-cloud architectures has made understanding where information resides and who owns it a critical priority for continuous governance.
On a corporate level, successful AI adoption also requires balancing innovation with compliance. At team. blue, Data Protection Officer Gundula Wentker transitioned from a cautious reviewer of AI tools to a leader in the company’s AI Champions programme. By establishing security and compliance frameworks early, she helped facilitate the safe use of AI tools across the organization.
