AI adoption expands in Chile and Peru through public and academic sectors
In Chile, Sercotec has signed an agreement with CENIA and SOFOFA Capital Humano to integrate generative artificial intelligence into its operations. Through the “Hazlo con IA” training program, Sercotec executives will learn to use AI tools to optimize processes, support decision-making, and improve service for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The initiative also includes an MVP developed by CENIA and Futuro del Trabajo to streamline information gathering and diagnostics for SMEs via Sercotec's Business Development Centers.
In Peru, the Universidad de Piura (UDEP) has launched SofIA Tec, an AI-powered virtual assistant designed to assist applicants. The tool provides immediate information regarding admission processes, scholarships, academic offerings, and tuition fees. By functioning as a 24/7 first point of contact, the assistant aims to reduce waiting times and facilitate the digital transformation of the university's student services.
