AI adoption expands in office automation and intelligent agents

The integration of Artificial Intelligence into office environments is accelerating across Asia, with companies increasingly adopting AI to automate administrative and technical tasks.

In Japan, a survey by BOTANICO reveals that 80% of its clients are either using or interested in implementing AI for routine administrative work, such as drafting emails and organizing data. However, 20% of companies remain hesitant due to security concerns and a lack of internal usage guidelines. In the software development sector, a survey of Salesforce developers indicates that 89.6% feel burdened by testing workloads, yet only about half of companies have implemented test automation tools, with only 24.8% achieving high levels of automation.

In China, major technology firms are shifting focus toward AI agents that can execute complex tasks rather than just answering questions. Baidu has launched 'Kuku AI', an independent intelligent agent integrated with its Baidu Wenku and Netdisk services, aiming to transform AI from a tool into a primary entry point for work processes. This move aligns with market projections from iiMedia Research, which estimates China's AI agent market will grow from 80.4 billion yuan in 2025 to 696.8 billion yuan by 2030.
