AI adoption linked to revenue growth in new enterprise study

A study conducted by Larridin and Carnegie Mellon University involving 500 publicly traded U.S. companies has identified a link between specific AI adoption signals and revenue growth. Companies that provide detailed, concrete descriptions of deployed AI systems and quantifiable results in their regulatory filings achieved an 8% revenue growth advantage over those using generalized or aspirational language.

While enterprise AI investment is increasing, with 74% of surveyed decision-makers planning to expand budgets, many organizations struggle to move beyond the pilot stage. Data indicates that 83% of enterprises converted fewer than half of their AI pilots into production over the last 12 months. The primary obstacles to successful deployment are not technological failure, but rather integration complexity, security, privacy, compliance requirements, and ROI scrutiny.
