AI adoption outpaces security and legacy modernization in Brazil’s enterprises

A Check Point Software report on cloud security in 2026 shows that 77% of Brazilian companies have updated their cloud security strategies in response to rapid AI adoption, yet only 26% possess the necessary architecture to enforce controls, creating a 51‑point gap. The study found that 64% of firms are already using AI agents, with 12% granting them privileged access to core systems, while just 5% have full visibility of internal AI tools. Over half (54%) reported at least one AI‑related security incident in the past year, and many cannot trace the flow of sensitive data through AI workflows.

At the same time, GFT announced an AI‑driven modernization service aimed at overcoming legacy‑system bottlenecks that hinder AI scalability. The offering combines AI‑based system analysis with engineering expertise to revamp legacy platforms, reduce operational costs by 25‑60%, and accelerate time‑to‑market by 25‑30%. GFT’s solution targets outdated codebases such as COBOL and Java, seeking to transform them into API‑first, cloud‑native architectures.

Both developments highlight growing challenges for Brazilian enterprises as AI integration expands faster than the security controls and legacy‑system upgrades needed to support it.
