Anthropic plans Nasdaq listing amid rising enterprise AI adoption
Anthropic has filed a Form S-1 with the SEC, signaling plans to list shares on the Nasdaq, potentially under the ticker ANT. Speculation suggests the company could seek a $100 billion valuation, which would place it at approximately $2 trillion. This move follows a period of significant revenue growth, with reports indicating $16.29 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026.
The listing comes as enterprise AI adoption accelerates. McKinsey research shows nearly 90% of organizations use AI regularly, while Gartner projects that the average Fortune 500 enterprise will operate over 150,000 AI agents by 2028, up from fewer than 15 in 2025.
However, challenges remain regarding governance and impact. While 80% of surveyed organizations report increased personal productivity from AI, only 37% have seen a measurable effect on EBIT. Additionally, as companies move toward multi-agent systems, questions regarding legal liability and accountability for collaborative AI outputs are emerging, highlighted by a California law that prevents using autonomous AI operation as a defense in liability claims.
