AI adoption trends in real estate and multifamily sectors

The real estate sector is increasingly focusing on the practical integration of artificial intelligence to enhance productivity and customer experience. In the multifamily housing industry, experts suggest that AI should be viewed as a tool to augment human capability rather than replace it. By automating repetitive tasks, leasing teams can dedicate more time to relationship building, mirroring the flexibility seen in the hospitality industry where digital and human interactions coexist.

To support this transition, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association is hosting a workshop in Boston titled ‘Leading with AI: From Foundations to Real World Applications’. Led by instructors from The Kendall Project, the program aims to move AI usage from individual productivity hacks to repeatable, team-wide systems. The training focuses on fundamental skills such as precise prompting, providing organizational context, and establishing standards to ensure AI outputs remain relevant and useful across various platforms.
