AI advancements target customer support automation and knowledge management
New developments in AI-driven customer support are emerging in Japan, focusing on automation and the challenges of knowledge management. Fantta has announced the launch of the alpha version of its ‘AI Mail Center,’ a next-generation system designed to automate inquiry responses. The system integrates with Mail Dealer via API and utilizes a self-learning model where the AI improves its accuracy by learning from human corrections. The alpha testing phase is scheduled to run for three months starting August 1, 2026.
In a related industry study, Flyle, Inc. released a report on FAQ and knowledge management trends in the age of AI. The survey of 407 contact center managers and operators revealed a significant gap in how information is perceived. While 73.9% of managers believe veteran operator expertise is being successfully converted into formal knowledge, only 26.4% of operators agree. Furthermore, only 17.6% of operators reported that the internal knowledge they reference during calls is ‘almost up-to-date, accurate, and reliable,’ highlighting a critical need for better data quality to support AI-driven contact centers.
