AI advancements target smart manufacturing and home services

Several technology firms are advancing the deployment of edge AI across manufacturing and residential sectors. USI has introduced a next-generation AI Smart Camera solution designed to accelerate digital transformation in manufacturing. This platform integrates high-performance edge computing and proprietary vision software to facilitate real-time image analysis, automated inspection, and defect detection, aiming to reduce costs and improve production efficiency.

In the consumer space, SDMC showcased its AI Home architecture at IBC 2026. The architecture utilizes cloud-edge intelligence and Physical AI to provide proactive services in entertainment and security. As part of Google Cloud’s Proactive Physical AI Acceleration Program, SDMC is collaborating with Google to validate service pilots. The SDMC system features the Cedar multimodal AI model, built on Google’s Gemma open model, and utilizes NVIDIA Jetson hardware to provide shared edge computing for various AI workloads.
