AI agent advancements focus on automated data analysis and cost tracking

Recent developments in AI agent utility highlight new methods for automated data analysis and cost management. At the DevelopersIO 2026 Joetsu event, a presentation demonstrated a system that allows AI agents to automatically access Iceberg data within AWS S3 Tables. By utilizing AgentCore Runtime and Strands Agents, the system enables users to perform data analysis via natural language queries through Slack, automating the process from query execution to the display of results.

In a separate development, a new tool called AgentsView has been introduced to manage the complexities of using multiple AI coding agents. AgentsView provides a local-first dashboard that automatically detects and tracks over 60 different agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, and Gemini. The tool allows users to monitor token consumption, estimate API costs, and perform full-text searches across conversation histories from various agents. It also includes features for analyzing agent activity, such as execution time and tool success rates, to help developers manage the costs and efficiency of their AI-driven workflows.
