AI agents enable end‑to‑end workflow automation with the new “vibe working” approach

A new workflow model called “vibe working” is being promoted for non‑technical users of artificial‑intelligence agents. Unlike traditional chatbots that provide a single textual reply, vibe working lets users describe a goal in natural language and an AI agent executes the entire process: it gathers information, selects tools, performs tasks such as accessing CRM records or generating discount codes, drafts communications, and logs results. Humans retain oversight, reviewing outcomes and handling decisions that involve risk, emotion, cost or legal responsibility.

The concept builds on “vibe coding,” a term popularised early in 2025 by Andrej Karpathy, former head of AI at Tesla, which encourages developers to describe desired software behaviour rather than write code line‑by‑line. Vibe working extends this idea to broader business processes, promising increased efficiency for repetitive tasks while keeping humans in the supervisory loop.
