A shift is underway from AI assistants that merely answer questions to autonomous AI agents that can read emails, update CRMs, raise invoices, book meetings and act on sensor data. This capability promises major productivity gains for businesses and for Internet‑of‑Things (IoT) installations, where agents can move from passive data collection to decision‑making and control.

Successful deployment hinges on structured prompting frameworks (e.g., RACE, R‑AF, DMAIC) and continuous testing, alongside organizational human‑in‑the‑loop oversight to keep risks manageable.
