AI agents reshape procurement and on‑chain payments

In parallel, SAP and Microsoft have announced AI‑based procurement agents that can monitor inventory, place orders and adjust logistics without human intervention. Gartner predicts that by 2031, 60 % of supply‑chain disruptions will be resolved without human input. The shift will pressure suppliers to move from traditional EDI formats to real‑time APIs that can provide instant stock levels, lead‑time data and capacity information, as AI agents require up‑to‑date data to evaluate and select vendors.
