AI and cybersecurity experts to discuss digital threats and safety

Experts in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity are gathering to discuss the evolving relationship between AI development and digital safety. An international symposium, ‘AI Challenges and Threats in Cybersecurity’ (IS-AICTC'26), will be held in Banja Luka at the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republika Srpska. Organized by the University of Banja Luka, ANURS, and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the event features Professor Kim-Kwang Raymond Choo from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Choo will lecture on academic collaboration and the application of AI in cybersecurity.

Security expert Mahir Hodžić notes that while AI accelerates security processes, human responsibility remains essential. He highlights the increasing convergence of physical and cyber security, emphasizing that modern risk management must integrate the protection of both physical assets and digital data. The industry is currently facing rapid technological shifts, evolving threats, and new regulatory requirements, necessitating continuous education and the development of new competencies.
