AI and embodied intelligence integration advances in China and Japan

Educational institutions and policymakers in China and Japan are advancing the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching and vocational training.

Yantai Vocational College in China hosted a seminar focused on digital teaching reforms for AI and embodied intelligence. The event included the inauguration of a training center for industrial humanoid robots and the launch of a national vocational education textbook project. The college also signed cooperation agreements with several enterprises to enhance industry-education integration.

In Japan, the Education AI Summit 2026 was held in Tokyo, drawing approximately 400 participants, including lawmakers, researchers, and students. Supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Digital Agency, the summit addressed topics such as generative AI usage, data sovereignty, and the evolving role of teachers. The event featured discussions on AI's impact on learning effectiveness, welfare DX, and student-led AI innovation through competitions.
