AI and hyper-personalization drive new trends in travel technology

The Tourism Innovation Summit 2026 (TIS2026), scheduled for October 6–8 at FIBES Sevilla, will focus on how artificial intelligence and hyper-personalization are transforming the traveler's journey. The summit will host executives from major companies including Google, Hyatt Hotels, and Cathay Pacific Airways to discuss the evolution of the customer journey, from inspiration and search to booking and loyalty.

In line with these technological shifts, Google has introduced new AI-driven travel tools within its Search AI Mode. These features allow users to perform concrete actions such as tracking flight prices through conversational commands, comparing hotel and flight costs using loyalty points or miles, and, in certain markets, completing hotel reservations directly within the AI interface. These updates aim to bridge the gap between travel inspiration and the final booking process by integrating tasks that previously required multiple applications and websites.
