AI and strategic planning emerge as tools to combat market volatility

Businesses are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence to navigate market volatility and improve the accuracy of annual planning. Traditional budgeting processes often struggle to account for rapid changes in costs, inventory, and logistics. According to Juan Manuel Vargas of SAP, the ability to detect changes and execute corrections quickly has become a strategic asset for protecting liquidity and profitability.

In Mexico, corporate leadership faces a complex landscape of uncertainty. A KPMG study involving 554 leaders, titled ‘Perspectivas de la Alta Dirección en México 2026’, reveals that while 65 percent of executives foresee new investments, 79 percent anticipate stagnation or recession. This environment necessitates a shift from simple forecasting to recognizing early operational signals before they escalate into significant financial consequences.
