AI biotechnology firms secure major funding and partnerships

Aizen Therapeutics, an AI-native biotechnology company spun out from Caltech, has entered into a multi-program collaboration with a San Diego-based public biotech firm. The partnership aims to design oral peptide therapeutics using Aizen’s DaX foundation model. The agreement includes several million dollars in initial revenue and potential milestone payments of up to $100 million per nominated target, focusing on immunology and neurology indications.

Separately, Aureka Biotechnologies has closed a $100 million Series B funding round to develop biological world models for drug discovery. This brings the company’s total funding to nearly $200 million. The round was led by Granite Asia and a strategic investor, with participation from HighLight Capital and existing shareholders. Aureka intends to use the capital to scale research and train next-generation models for molecular design and structure prediction.
