Other reports highlight related developments – Chinese regulators have banned AI companion chatbots that foster emotional dependence; research shows AI‑generated personas can infiltrate online communities and subtly steer opinion; and studies reveal AI chat tools can persuade users and influence government officials in Germany, Switzerland and the UK. Collectively these stories signal that autonomous, agentic AI is entering commerce, governance and public discourse, raising both commercial opportunities and ethical concerns.
