In software, OpenHands has released its 1.0 version, marking a transition for the open-source autonomous coding agent from a hobbyist project to a production-ready tool. The update includes a ground-up rebuild centered on a Software Agent SDK and introduces Docker sandboxing, security policies, and resource limits to allow for secure self-hosting. OpenHands reportedly completes approximately 68% of SWE-bench Verified tasks, placing its performance in competition with commercial AI agents while offering users greater control over their code and API keys.
